Her Heart For The Arts

Artist Anita Mays has been creating art since she was 5 years old. While in college as an art major she became discouraged in her talent and switched her major to business. For eight years she didn’t create any type of art due to the fear of failing. Her passion for creativity never subsided and pressed her every day until she finally became bold enough to try again. To her surprise, her gift grew and flourished into something brand new 8 years later.

Now the artist and founder of “Eighty8 Lines” host exciting paint events that encourage people to do exactly what she had to learn how to do herself… face their fears and make something beautiful out of what they were “once” afraid of. Most of her guests will agree that their painting results were shocking as well as their experience none less than exciting.

“I put my full personality into our paint events and programs which I believe establishes a bit of comfort for apprehensive painters.

Along with hosting mobile paint events within the DFW, 88L also facilitates an art program for youth called “SCriBbles”. The program provides a vast array of different art & S.T.E.A.M activities that children just LOVE!

However, the artist didn’t stop there, her love for philanthropy leads her to create a program called, “Imprints”. Imprints is designed to cultivate young artists in their artistic impression by linking them to other artists, tools, and resources they would need. “Through Imprints, I wanted to give young artists what I didn’t have as a child, a person to hold my hand and help me find my voice through my art” says Anita.

88L strives to be an entity that would always aims to encourage clients as well as provide a personalized experience for them. “Whether I pick up a pencil or a paintbrush, everything I do begins as a line that soon connects with other lines to create a masterpiece”- Artist Anita Mays
